Janne Haavisto

Designer, with Hefmec since 2018

I started at Hefmec in early 2018 as a mechanical designer alongside my studies in mechanical and production engineering. My first project was the layout design of a customer’s production facility, which gave me a fast start to my career. I have worked as a mechanical designer on several design and delivery projects. I have also worked in the automotive and paper industries on various design projects and production lines. In my spare time, I can be found in the immediate vicinity of various motorized harpoons. Sometimes I like to swap my rhythm guitar for a Les Paul-style guitar and usually that’s when the evergreen riffs from the Marshall ring out.

Tomi Laava

Senior Designer, Project Engineer, at Hefmec since 2011

I started working for Hefmec as a mechanical designer at the end of 2011, since then I have been working either at our customers’ premises or at our own office. My work experience is focused on equipment supply projects, where equipment is designed and implemented according to customer needs. In these projects, I have carried out comprehensive equipment design, from defining functions to product development and design, and from supervising production and manufacturing to packaging and delivery of equipment. In addition to equipment supply, I have experience in the development of production and manufacturing equipment for the pharmaceutical industry. To balance my work, I spend my free time doing sports and studying. In the summer you can find me on the golf greens and in the off-season at the gym or on a run.

Pete Sutinen

Senior Designer, Project Manager, at Hefmec since 2016

I started at Hefmec in 2016 and during these years I have been exposed to automotive, pharmaceutical and electric motor manufacturing. I’ve been involved in various production development projects to improve existing production or create completely new manufacturing capabilities. In development projects, I often act as a link between internal and external stakeholders, providing the technical definition and design needed for the projects. Through these projects, I have gained experience in the implementation of equipment acquisitions, from the procurement phase through to commissioning and validation. I have also worked as a designer and project manager on various work and lifting equipment, as well as on the design of machinery and equipment. In my spare time, I play Crossfit, video games and read a variety of tech publications. My goal would be to get my first proper mountain bike to replace the motocross of my youth.
