With a pad gripper, the piece is gripped by a form-lock or by friction around the piece. With interchangeable pads, an adjustable frame and a self-locking reduction gear, the gripper can lift and turn a wide range of barrels or pieces of different sizes and shapes, and can also handle off-centre pieces.
Typically, the objects to be lifted are large barrels or bushings. A pantograph gripper for lifting the barrel allows the piece to be turned continuously, while it is always attached to the gripper. Stepless rotation allows the work to be carried out during the lifting operation.
The bushing lifter allows the bushing to be moved to the machining centre. Finally, the lifting device can be removed.
The advantage of the pantomime gripper is that lifting and turning can be done steplessly and safely with a single piece of clamping. During lifting, the load can be fixed or lowered in an intermediate position, for example for maintenance.
The lifting device can also be supplied with interchangeable clamps of different sizes, allowing the same frame to be used for lifting several different pieces. The pantomime gripper saves on procurement costs, phase time and production costs.
